Last September 2019, Hurricane Dorian ravaged our neighbor, the Bahamas, in one of the strongest and deadliest Hurricane storms ever recorded. Many lives were lost and countless other families were forced to evacuate the island as it became unsafe and inhabitable. Some of these displaced families were living here in Palm Beach County.
With the Holidays fast approaching, JAYJ Foundation, Ms. Peggy Martin and Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Palm Beach County, teamed up and organized a Holiday Dinner and Toy Distribution for the Bahamian Families and Children affected by Hurricane Dorian. This event took place on Saturday, December 21, 2019 at Mary Immaculate Church in West Palm Beach, Florida.
With Santa Claus on board, toys were distributed to all children and the families were served a full buffet-style dinner. Gift cards were also distributed to 25 families, thanks to a very generous anynomous donor.
Thank You to all the generous donors, volunteers and supporters for their generosity and time in making this event a HUGE SUCCESS!
